Length: 5 to 6 hour ride
Rides from March through November – weather permitting. (For the months of March, April, October & November the rides will be closed Sundays)
This ride goes through Sheep Creek in the Paria River drainage area to the narrows of Willis Creek, where ancient Indian petroglyphs can be seen along the canyon walls. Sections of the Willis Creek narrows are barely wide enough for a horse to pass through! From Willis Creek, we’ll travel through Averett Canyon named for Elijah Averett, a young Mormon soldier who was killed by Indians in 1866. We’ll pass his grave and monument. Children must be at least 10 years old.

- All riders 17 and under must wear provided helmet.
- Beginner to experienced riders
- Departs Ruby’s Inn at 8:30 a.m.

Horse Motel Available at Ruby’s Inn. Ruby’s Inn is a Permit Holder to the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
