Willis Creek – Sheep Creek Ride

Cost: $135 per person
Length: 5 to 6 hour ride

This ride goes through Sheep Creek in the Paria River drainage area to the narrows of Willis Creek, where ancient Indian petroglyphs can be seen along the canyon walls. Sections of the Willis Creek narrows are barely wide enough for a horse to pass through! From Willis Creek, we’ll travel through Averett Canyon named for Elijah Averett, a young Mormon soldier who was killed by Indians in 1866. We’ll pass his grave and monument.Children must be at least  10 years old.

  • Beginner to experienced riders
  • Departs Ruby’s Inn at 8:30 a.m.
  • This ride is available April 15th through May 31st & September 1st through November 1st

Horse Motel Available at Ruby’s Inn. Ruby’s Inn is a Permit Holder to the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
